AGJ Systems & Networks Inc. has been selected as the Mississippi Business Journal’s Commercial Small Business of the Year for 2005.

AGJ competed against eight other finalists throughout the State to win this coveted award. The Mississippi Business Journal, Road Runner Broadband, Mississippi Technology Alliance, SuperTalk Mississippi, and TrustMark Bank sponsor the award. Businesses were judged on company growth, recognition and achievements, company leadership, community service and employee quality of life. Three business professors from Belhaven College, Millsaps College and Mississippi College performed judging independently. Regarding the Business of the Year selection, MBJ publisher Joe Jones, CPA said, “This designation signifies a company’s level of commitment not only to their bottom line, but also to their communities and to their employees.”

AGJ’s staff and partners have donated thousands of hours of volunteer work to strengthen the community. Ryan Giles, CFO of AGJ Systems & Networks, Inc. accepted the award in Jackson, MS, and stated “Today was incredibly exciting, we were recognized at a statewide level as a thriving and productive business that cares about our employees, clients, and community. This is the ideology that we committed to provide two and half years ago as our business model”.

AGJ Systems and Networks Inc, is located in the Biloxi Technology Center. Currently the corporation supports over 360 government and business customers throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida. The web development staff has designed and hosts over 75 websites. Today the company has grown from the three original partners to eleven staff members with an annual salary of over three hundred thousand dollars a year. US News and World Report, as an example of growing small business entrepreneurship in a stagnant economy, recently spotlighted AGJ. AGJ was recognized as Harrison County Development Commission’s Commercial Small Business of the Year for 2004 and as Mississippi’s Southern Regional Governor’s Cup winner. AGJ currently holds Federal and State contracts for technology services and equipment on both the GSA and Mississippi EPL.

AGJ Systems, announces that two web developers, including Nick Puffer have achieved the designation of Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) Associate. The CIW certification has become the industry standard for today’s webmasters. CIW Associates have mastered the fundamental knowledge and skills required to work in an Internet technology-enabled environment. These foundational skills include basic knowledge of Internet technologies such as Web browsers, FTP and e-mail; Web page authoring using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML); and basic infrastructure networking.

AGJ Systems & Networks differentiates itself from competing information technology companies by emphasizing continuing education and certifications. AGJ currently hosts and has developed over 65 websites. AGJ was recently named Harrison County’s Small Business of the Year for 2004 and the South State Governor’s Cup Winner for Commercial Small Businesses.

AGJ Systems, a veteran-owned local web and network solution provider, today announced the hiring of a Web Developer.

Natascha Foret is a 2004 graduate of Tulane University College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Website Development and a minor in Media Arts.

Natascha has worked part time at AGJ as an intern while pursuing her degree. She has been instrumental in the development of multiple websites including www.mscoastbrac.com and www.sassitup.com . She will supervise graphic production and continue to work as a programmer inside AGJ’s website and e-commerce division.

AGJ Systems & Networks Inc. has been selected as Mississippi’s Southern District Candidate for the Governor’s Cup. AGJ competed against multiple small businesses throughout the State’s Southern District including Harrison, Jackson, Hancock, Stone, and George Counties to win this coveted award. The Governor’s Cup awards are sponsored by the Mississippi Development Authority in partnership with the Mississippi Economic Development Council and Governor Haley Barbour.

The businesses recognized by the Governor’s Cup Awards represent Leaders across our state making a difference through their community involvement and economic impact. This award program was established to honor existing businesses and show their contribution to the community. The Harrison County Development Commission (HCDC) and the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce both nominated AGJ Systems & Networks Inc., for the prestigious Governor’s Cup. The HCDC and Biloxi Chamber will split a $1000 grant to help plan for retaining existing industry in the area and can win an additional $15,000 grant if AGJ is selected as the Statewide winner.

Today the company has grown from the three original partners to eleven staff members with an annual salary of over a quarter million dollars. Brian Alford, AGJ’s President believes the key to success has been AGJ’s customer support. AGJ currently has been able to provide technical support with less than a four hour response window. “Our average return to uptime is less than one hour. AGJ accomplishes this by stressing certifications and constant training.”

AGJ will compete against four other companies at the state level for the overall Governor’s Cup.

Mississippi Sea Wolves Professional Hockey announced on Monday that the team has launched its new web site design at www.msseawolves.com and unveiled its new slogan, Party with the Pack!

The Sea Wolves partnered with AGJ Systems & Networks, Inc., a Biloxi-based company, for the design and hosting of the new site, which also features a flash introduction.

“The staff at AGJ Systems & Networks Inc. did a tremendous job building our site and they are great to work with too,” said Bo McMurphy, President of the Sea Wolves. “Our new slogan, Party with the Pack, sets the tone for the season. We’re going to have a lot of fun at our hockey games, and we’re inviting everyone to party with us!”
