AGJ Systems & Networks Inc. has been selected as Mississippi’s Southern District Candidate for the Governor’s Cup. AGJ competed against multiple small businesses throughout the State’s Southern District including Harrison, Jackson, Hancock, Stone, and George Counties to win this coveted award. The Governor’s Cup awards are sponsored by the Mississippi Development Authority in partnership with the Mississippi Economic Development Council and Governor Haley Barbour.

The businesses recognized by the Governor’s Cup Awards represent Leaders across our state making a difference through their community involvement and economic impact. This award program was established to honor existing businesses and show their contribution to the community. The Harrison County Development Commission (HCDC) and the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce both nominated AGJ Systems & Networks Inc., for the prestigious Governor’s Cup. The HCDC and Biloxi Chamber will split a $1000 grant to help plan for retaining existing industry in the area and can win an additional $15,000 grant if AGJ is selected as the Statewide winner.

“We are honored to have been nominated by both the Chamber and HCDC. It is a testament to the hard work of our staff to receive dual nominations considering the competition here on the Coast,” stated Buddy Jones, CEO of AGJ Systems & Networks, Inc. “We believe that our commitment to providing the best services and products balanced with supporting our communities through charitable work and service organizations is the key reason we were chosen to represent the Southern Region.” AGJ’s staff and partners have donated thousands of hours of volunteer work to strengthen the community. “Our original Business Plan included a percentage of our gross income to be donated to charitable organizations” stated Ryan Giles, CFO of AGJ Systems & Networks Inc. “Today we have well exceeded that number and will continue to volunteer and provide financial support for worthy causes”.

AGJ Systems and Networks Inc. is located in the Biloxi Technology Center. Currently AGJ supports over 240 government and business customers throughout the Gulf Coast Area. The web development staff has designed and hosts over 50 websites. Today the company has grown from the three original partners to eleven staff members with an annual salary of over a quarter million dollars. Brian Alford, AGJ’s President believes the key to success has been AGJ’s customer support. AGJ currently has been able to provide technical support with less than a four hour response window. “Our average return to uptime is less than one hour. AGJ accomplishes this by stressing certifications and constant training.”

AGJ will compete against four other companies at the state level for the overall Governor’s Cup.
